OverviewThe Weddings & Events Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of weddings and events, ensuring an exceptional guest experience from initial enquiry through to event completion. This is a client‑facing, hands‑on role combining event management, sales, and team leadership. This role is central to delivering the premium wedding experience that hotels like Salthill Hotel are known for—combining sales, coordination, and on‑the‑day execution to create seamless and memorable events.ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary point of contact for wedding couples and event clientsPlan and coordinate all aspects of weddings & events, from enquiry to post‑event follow‑upDevelop detailed event schedules, function sheets, and timelinesEnsure all events are delivered to the highest standards of service and presentationOversee event setup, execution, and breakdownSchedule and conduct site tours and consultations with prospective clientsGenerate quotations for prospective weddings/events and timely follow‑upsUp‑sell products and services throughout all event process to maximise revenueManage a portfolio of existing clients to encourage repeat and new businessConvert enquiries into confirmed bookingsIdentify new business opportunities and follow up new sales leads to secure the success of the businessFollow up on any sales leads received in‑house or from other sources and provide a detailed follow up in sales enquiry tracker whether converted or lostKey focus on growing the corporate business in both room and event segmentNurture and develop existing accounts ensuring the hotel is maximizing business from each accountFollow up on lost accounts and feedback informationDevelop area coverage where sales are lackingIncrease overall sales volumes and number of accountsArrange monthly production account review calls with top Corporate clientsBuild strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partnersUpsell packages, menus, and additional services to maximise revenueManage contracts, deposits, and billing accuracySchedule and attend weekly function and sales meetingsLiaise with internal departments (kitchen, bar, accommodation, operations)Communicate event details clearly across all teamsEnsure all logistics (menus, layouts, AV, decor) are organised and deliveredTroubleshoot issues during events to ensure seamless executionManage event budgets and ensure cost controlMaintain accurate event records and CRM systemsMonitor performance metrics and contribute to revenue targetsCollect and review client feedback to improve servicesAdditional duties as required
