Job Details Role requirements Role requirement 1 Monitoring, data analysis & reporting Develop monitoring frameworks and reporting procedures for the programmes administered by Pobal.

Define indicators to measure programme progress and effectiveness.

Define parameters for programmes' monitoring and reporting ICT systems.

Develop monitoring guidance and training materials.

Quality control - oversight of data quality and validity; responsible for liaising with Funder Relations and Business Delivery team (FRBD) and SIE operations team where quality issues are identified and for providing direction on better data management.

Extract and analyse monitoring data collected using programme's IT system.

Conduct data analysis and prepare reports to meet internal and external/ funder deadlines Coordinate collation of programme data at required intervals i.e.

monthly, mid-term, annual and in required formats.

Contribute to the preparation of Board reports and answering Funder and Parliamentary queries as required.

Role requirement 2 Research Create a research strategy for GRAI's Social Impact Fund (SIF) that sets out main research themes and goals for both the short and long term, making sure it fits with relevant national and international policies.

Review current research and evidence to find gaps and ensure the strategy focuses on Ireland's key gambling research needs.

Conduct short desk-based research projects defined by the programme of work.

Ensure the strategy follows Pobal's internal research policies and get approval from the Research Oversight Group (ROG).

Maintain a list of gambling research topics, focusing on Ireland, and prepare reports on research gaps and suggested projects for SIF support.

Assess the feasibility of a research hub on the GRAI website to share research and resources, and represent GRAI at key national and international research forums.

Role requirement 3 Working with stakeholders Involve stakeholders, including programme teams and partners, in developing the research strategy and support the coordination of ongoing and new projects.

Set up and provide administrative support to a formal research advisory group to guide the research direction.

Develop a network with universities, and invite research proposals to support SIF's funding goals.

Work with the relevant programme team members from different Directorates to scope and develop new ways of using existing datasets to produce analysis that can be used for programme design and as evidence for business decisions.

Attend programme team meetings and contribute to programme implementation plans.

Support the FRBD/ SIE operations teams in responding to funder queries where relevant.

Provide support to Data Protection and Data Governance Officers on details of programme data.

Role requirement 4 People management Determine, develop and deliver training as appropriate to Pobal staff Induction of new staff Manage assigned staff, ensuring they are equipped with a clear understanding of requirements and expectations; are developed, supported, performance managed and valued as Pobal employees and as representatives of Pobal Ensure that all staff adhere to regulations and procedures Allocate work, develop staff and ensure effective relationships in a team working context Lead with an agile mind-set, focused on problem solving through creative solutions, and thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment.

Required experience Minimum of 2 years experience in the development of monitoring frameworks.

Minimum of 2 years experience in conducting research activities.

Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience, with some knowledge or a background in the community and voluntary sector and EU grant/ funding programmes.

Previous experience working in addiction services or conducting monitoring and/or research related projects within the area of addiction is desirable.

Previous experience of developing a research strategy Knowledge and experience of performance monitoring systems.

Experience in data analysis, report preparation and writing, including evidence of the production of high-quality reports or written materials.

A demonstrable use of critical thinking.

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in MS packages e.g.

Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Share Point portals.

Qualifications Relevant Third Level qualification (e.g., Degree) equivalent is essential.
