A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join their project delivery team, working across a portfolio of high-end residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments throughout Dublin and the surrounding areas.
This is a key role within the project team, responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining robust construction programmes to ensure successful project delivery from pre‑construction through to completion.
You will work closely with project managers, commercial teams, and site teams to ensure planning accuracy, programme compliance, and proactive identification of risks and delays.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6 / Asta Powerproject)
Lead planning input from pre‑construction through to project delivery and handover
Produce short‑term and master construction programmes across multiple live projects
Monitor progress against baseline programmes and produce delay/impact analysis where required
Work closely with site teams to ensure sequencing and logistics are fully coordinated
Attend regular site and client meetings, providing clear planning updates and reports
Identify programme risks and implement mitigation strategies
Support tender stage planning and methodology development
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure alignment with overall programme objectives
Requirements
5+ years’ experience in construction planning, ideally with a main contractor
Strong background in large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed‑use projects
Proficient in Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject (or similar planning software)
Excellent understanding of construction sequencing and buildability
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (desirable)
