We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant – AR & AP to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing a career within finance.
You will support the day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, helping to ensure accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR):
* Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and on time
* Post and reconcile customer receipts
* Monitor aged debt and follow up on outstanding balances
* Resolve customer invoice and payment queries
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records
Accounts Payable (AP):
* Process supplier invoices and credit notes
* Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
* Prepare and assist with supplier payment runs
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
* Maintain accurate supplier records
General Accounting Support:
* Assist with month-end close activities
* Post journals as required
* Support audits by preparing and providing financial documentation
* Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and reporting
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable role
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
* Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications (Desirable)
* AAT qualification or currently studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
