Brothers of Charity Services Ireland offers a variety of residential, day, respite, assessment, and clinical services to individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disability.
Many of the people we support have additional needs, including autism, behaviours that challenge, and physical or sensory disabilities.
Services and supports are provided to over 6,500 people and their families throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford.

Role:
The role of the Team Leader is a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day delivery of a Day services in conjunction with the Team Manager/Service Coordinator/Area Manager.
The successful candidate must provide leadership in the development of the service in line with Personal Outcomes Measures, HIQA standards, new directions and future service requirements.
The vision of the Orchard Services, Gort is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community.
Our focus is to form a relationship / partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences.
We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships.
We wish to recruit an innovative, creative, motivated, visionary person who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision.
We are looking for an individual who will be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they support and are open to change and aim to provide a safe, secure environment where individuals will participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfills their potential and expectations with opportunity for new experiences.
It is the Team Leader's responsibility to ensure that the life of each individual reflects the organisation's core values by supporting each individual's development in the areas of:

Promoting independence in the area of personal development, educational, employment, life skills and day-to-day living skills in line with the Capacity Act.

Qualifications:
HETAC/NQAI BA (HONS) in Applied Social Studies (Disability)/Social Care.
Candidates must be eligible for registration on the Social Care Register at CORU on or before 30th November ****.

A management qualification is also desirable or a commitment to obtain one.
Experience:
The successful candidate must have experience of working with people with an intellectual disability.
Understanding of community networking, supporting individuals to partake in activities in their local community, goal setting and programme implementation is essential.
Working with people with complex medical needs, physical disabilities, dementia, challenging behaviour and mental health is an advantage.
Skills:
Leadership and experience in leading, managing, rostering and supporting staff teams.
Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Teamwork and client-centred philosophy.
Report writing and record keeping.
IT skills and experience in the use of multimedia technology.
Working Hours:
39 hours per week based on a 7-day duty roster.
Contracted hours of work are liable to change over seven days to meet the requirements of the service.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
An on-call commitment is an essential requirement of this post.
23 days per annum.
Appropriate service-related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years of service respectively.
Remuneration:
Department of Health Social Care Leader salary scale (01/08/2025) – €56,351 x 6 increments to €65,807 per annum.
A probationary period of 9 months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
This role is temporary, full-time and pensionable on a specific purpose basis linked to the redeployment of a permanent staff member.
