We have an exciting opportunity available for a E&I Scada Technician to join our Networks team in Thomastown VIC, on a permanent fulltime basis.
Reporting to the Systems Operations Manager, this role is responsible for repairing and modifying instruments for the Systems Monitoring department, providing electrical support, and offering professional advice to Technical Officers and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Construction, installation, and maintenance of telemetry/SCADA and electrical equipment
* Installation, maintenance, and calibration of electrical/electronic instruments used for gas measurement
* Conduct technical investigations of electrical/electronic systems and make recommendations
* Assist the Engineering department in project work at the design and development stage
* Carry out project work for construction, installation, commissioning, and documentation
* Provide professional technical advice and training to colleagues, subordinates, and people from outside organisations
Your background
* Trade qualification essential and post-trade studies in other technical subjects, especially in electronics or electrical installations preferred
* Experience in handling hazardous materials and knowledge of relevant procedures and codes of practice
* Understanding and experience of Electrical Instrumentation equipment and the basic principles of gas measurement
* Knowledge in general and technical software packages and experience in a quality environment using Australian Standards
* Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, and testing of electronic instrumentation and telemetry/SCADA systems is desirable
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Networks manages and operates local distribution networks and transmission pipelines that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including biogas and hydrogen and also the 2032 Olympics. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
