Cost Manager Role
The role of Senior Cost Manager in our organization involves overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
* Job Description: This position requires analyzing blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor costs versus estimates. It also entails all quantity surveying duties, including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections. In addition, experience in project management is essential.
* Responsibilities: The successful candidate will consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction managers/supervisors to discuss cost-related matters. They will monitor cost from vendors or subcontractors, explore variances, manage issues in conjunction with their manager, deal with cost overseas, and recover it when necessary. Moreover, they will report on actual costs and examine estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. Furthermore, they will prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals throughout the project duration.
* Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate should be competent in all forms of estimating packages, Microsoft Excel, and Word. They should have excellent analytical skills and be able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
