Automation Engineer Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Site About the Role We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer specialising in DeltaV Distributed Control System to join our NPI team within a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role will support the delivery of New Product Introduction (NPI), technology transfer, and process automation projects across GMP-regulated manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Validation, Quality, and external vendors to deliver robust and compliant automation solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and support DeltaV Distributed Control System automation systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment Develop and modify control modules, equipment modules, batch phases, recipes, and HMI graphics Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities Troubleshoot automation and process control issues during project execution and commercial manufacturing Support technology transfer and scale-up activities for new products Ensure all automation activities comply with GMP, GAMP5, and data integrity requirements Generate and review automation lifecycle documentation including: Functional Specifications Design Specifications Test protocols Change controls Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Process Engineering, Validation, Quality, and Operations Support continuous improvement and optimization initiatives across manufacturing systems Requirements Degree in Automation, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline 7+ years experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing Strong hands-on experience with DeltaV Distributed Control System systems Experience supporting NPI, commissioning, or technology transfer projects Knowledge of: GMP environments Computer System Validation (CSV) Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability Skills: Automation delta V Engineering
