Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to drive operational efficiency and quality in our engineering output. The successful candidate will oversee procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate purchasing at the company level, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
* Support the Project Manager in defining and implementing the divisional purchasing strategy, fostering collaboration across teams.
* Develop and implement a group-wide Material Group Management system, streamlining procurement processes.
* Optimize replenishment times and implement a multi-supplier strategy to enhance supply chain resilience.
* Ensure timely material availability, minimizing delays and disruptions.
* Optimize stock levels to strike a balance between inventory costs and lead times.
* Lead on reducing material costs through strategic negotiations and vendor partnerships.
* Manage and develop a high-performing Purchasing Department team, providing coaching and guidance to achieve goals.
* Develop innovative purchasing methods and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
* Take responsibility for purchasing control, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
* Oversee all purchasing project portfolios, driving projects forward and mitigating risks.
Qualifications, Requirements, and Experience:
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management, with a proven track record of success.
* Solid knowledge of procurement strategies, including contract management and supplier relationships.
* Educational background to degree level or relevant qualifications, coupled with extensive industry experience.
