AXA Ireland is recruiting for a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join our Executive Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the CEO of AXA Ireland, you will play a pivotal role on the AXA Insurance dac Executive Committee. This is a PCF14 regulated position under the Central Bank of Ireland's regulatory framework, where you will be accountable for developing and executing a comprehensive risk management strategy that safeguards AXA from technical, regulatory, and competitive risks. Key Responsibilities of the role: Develop and deliver the Risk & Compliance vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and AXA Group Standards. Collaborate and influence executive leadership, business colleagues, and key clients to gain buy-in for the Risk and Compliance Strategy. Guide the Risk function in establishing and managing the AXA Risk Management Framework, including Risk Registers, Policies, and Procedures. Lead senior management in creating processes to identify, prioritise, monitor, control, and report key risks impacting AXA's business objectives. Develop comprehensive reports on the Product Approval Process, reinsurance coverage, claims monitoring, and reserve reviews. Provide insightful risk analysis and reporting to the Board of Directors, covering potential incidents, breaches, losses, and control effectiveness. Oversee the Solvency and Financial Condition Report, Regular Supervisory Report, and Pillar III capital-related reporting. Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer to manage safeguarding and regulatory exposures. This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements. You can find more information on Qualifications Over 10 years of experience in leading risk management functions within regulated financial services, preferably in insurance. Proven managerial experience across various risk management disciplines, including operational risk and resilience. A relevant degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field, with a preference for qualified actuaries, accountants and/or those holding risk management accreditations. Demonstrated experience in designing, adapting, and managing risk testing and reporting processes. Successful track record in implementing risk management policies, procedures, and systems while providing timely and accurate management information. Familiarity with EU, EEA, and UK regulatory environments, risk requirements, and standards. Strong understanding of the insurance landscape, competitor dynamics, and emerging trends. Demonstrate clear and logical decision-making capabilities, coupled with effective leadership skills to drive transformative change within our organisation. Proven stakeholder management to meet the diverse needs of stakeholders while collaborating to resolve complex issues Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to distil complex concepts into clear, impactful messages that resonate with stakeholders at all levels.
