Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.


Job Description


Role Purpose: Support individuals and groups in recovery, promote positive change, and assist in their personal development through assessments, referrals, care planning, and therapeutic engagement.


Key Responsibilities

* Assist with referrals and care plans.
* Provide information and education on substance use, harm reduction, and health promotion.
* Support service users from first contact, maintaining professional and therapeutic relationships.
* Record and document client interventions, maintaining accurate notes.
* Assist with reports, administration, and office duties.
* Challenge inappropriate behavior appropriately, with team support.
* Refer service users to relevant services when necessary.
* Communicate effectively with staff, external agencies, and service users to ensure quality outcomes.
* Share knowledge and collaborate within the team to support decision-making.
* Attend any relevant and approved training to comply with CE scheme to support one's personal and professional development and progression. Training will be identified through the individual Learning Plan.


Skills & Qualifications

1. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
2. A basic level of Microsoft IT Skills.
3. Ability to build trust and manage challenging behavior.
4. Good organizational and administrative skills.
5. Commitment to continuous professional development.
6. While past experience is desirable, it is not required in line with CE ethos.
