Offer description

Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, Sports to lead our sports team. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the organisation of sports events including the Public Service Games (STAR Games) and the Malaysia-Singapore Bilateral Games, ensuring seamless execution and full compliance with SportSG and relevant sporting authority regulations.
You’ll be responsible for managing a dedicated team and maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence across all activities organised by Sports Department.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations

Lead and manage the Sports Department, including Executives and Assistant Manager
Oversee all activities and events, both competitive and non-competitive
Manage sports interest clubs including the Cycling and Adventure Club
Provide secretariat support for Board of Games Committee

Event Management & Stakeholder Relations

Collaborate closely with government agencies, event organisers, stakeholders, sponsors, and affiliates to deliver well‑executed events
Liaise with vendors and sports authorities on all sporting activities
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Administer the STAR Games awards and incentive schemes

Compliance & Strategic Planning

Develop and implement strategic plans for sports programming and to achieve participation targets
Ensure full compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements for activities/events organised by Sports Department
Analyse industry trends and formulate policies to achieve desired outcomes
Prepare annual budgets and reports
Ensure compliance with financial procedures

Additional Duties

Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by Management

Requirements
Essential Qualifications

Degree in Sports Management or related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at managerial level in sports administration or event management

Skills & Competencies

Excellent organisational and planning abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven leadership and interpersonal capabilities
Critical thinking and analytical problem‑solving skills
Resourceful with a systematic approach to challenges

Other Requirements

Flexibility to work weekends and after office hours during events
