Process Engineer
Reporting to: Engineering / Product Development Lead
Location: Castlebar
This role offers an opportunity to join a highly specialised manufacturing environment, supporting the development and optimisation of advanced production processes.
The Process Engineer will play a key role in driving manufacturing performance through process development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives, while supporting new product introduction and ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Support end-to-end optimisation of manufacturing processes across production operations.
Develop into a key technical point of contact for process-related challenges on the production floor.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Production and Quality) to prioritise and deliver process improvements.
Lead the design, development, and validation of new and existing manufacturing processes.
Manage and implement process changes through structured change control systems.
Work closely with production teams to plan and successfully execute process improvements.
Develop and deliver technical documentation, including work instructions and training materials.
Analyse process data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement solutions to improve performance and KPIs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Engage with external suppliers and vendors where required to support process enhancements.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a data-driven mindset.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
Experience interpreting data and implementing improvements based on insights.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks or similar).
Experience with 2D drafting tools is advantageous.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to production teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a process engineering role within a regulated or precision manufacturing environment.
Strong hands-on background in areas such as machining, fabrication, or equipment development.
