Security / Cyber Security Auditor (Professional Services)

Our client is a well-established
professional services firm
operating in Ireland, with a strong national footprint and ongoing growth. The firm forms part of an internationally integrated professional services network, delivering services to a broad portfolio of domestic and international clients across multiple industries.

The organisation places strong emphasis on quality, collaboration, and professional development, offering exposure to complex client environments and opportunities to build a long-term career within professional services.

This role sits within a
technology risk / cyber security advisory team
and involves working with clients of varying size and complexity, including large corporates and regulated entities, both in Ireland and internationally.

The successful candidate will work on engagements covering areas such as cybersecurity, IT audit, data protection, and technology risk, providing both technical insight and risk-based recommendations to clients.

who want to deepen their technical security expertise while continuing to develop audit, risk, and advisory skills.

The Role

* Deliver security and cyber security audits across a range of client environments
* Assess technology platforms, infrastructure, and security controls to identify risk and control gaps
* Evaluate compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and leading practices
* Provide clear, practical, and risk-focused recommendations to clients
* Contribute to client deliverables, reports, and presentations
* Work collaboratively within engagement teams and with client stakeholders
* Support the development of junior team members
* Stay current with evolving cyber threats, regulatory changes, and security standards

Key Requirements

The firm is open to candidates from a variety of technical and professional services backgrounds. What matters most is strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to apply security knowledge in a client-facing, risk-based environment

Essential experience and knowledge:

* Minimum of
3 years' experience
in:
* Security / cyber security
* Technology risk or cyber security audit
* Professional services, consulting, or advisory environments
* Strong understanding of
EU security regulations
(e.g. NIS / NIS2)
* Knowledge of
information security standards
(e.g. ISO 27001 / 27002)
* Solid understanding of:
* Enterprise technology and infrastructure
* Cyber security threats and defensive controls
* Network and operational security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, PKI, authentication solutions)
* Experience with:
* Security monitoring and incident management
* Patch and vulnerability management
* SOC / SIEM operations
* Penetration testing and threat management activities
* Strong knowledge of:
* Linux and Windows server security and hardening
* TCP/IP protocols
* security (e.g. 802.1X, WPA, VPN technologies)
* Understanding of non-technical security disciplines including:
* Governance and risk management
* Security policies and standards
* Incident response and playbooks
* Threat intelligence

A professional certification such as
CISSP
(or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Candidate Profile

* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
* Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:1) in security, cyber security, computer science, technology, engineering, or a related field
* Master's degree is advantageous
* Experience working in
structured, deadline-driven professional services environments
* Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgement
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Client-focused mindset with the ability to translate technical issues into business-relevant insights
* Proactive and motivated, with a commitment to continuous learning and development
