Our client is an international multi-disciplinary consultancy operating from over 20 locations across the globe.
We are seeking to appoint a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to take up a principal role with our Dublin team.
This will involve working mostly on data centre projects ranging from plant upgrades through to 100MW+ hyperscale projects.
You will be responsible for managing engineering designs in line with client brief and/or other project requirements.
This will include reviewing and providing feedback on designs produced by junior staff, monitoring resourcing requirements for projects and providing feedback.
Under the guidance of a more experienced manager, you will contribute to the day-to-day management and control of projects including commercial and financial management, project management and compliance with QA, environmental and health and safety procedures.
You will also provide training and coaching to junior staff, including acting as a mentor to support those pursuing membership of professional institutions.
The ideal candidate will have a degree level in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng or equivalent).
They will be a Chartered Engineer or willing to work towards Chartership.
A proven track record in the concept design and delivery of multiple largescale critical infrastructure projects is essential.
Prior experience in data centre/critical systems and/or other mission critical context would be beneficial.
The ability to coordinate with other design disciplines is key to this role.
Familiarity with relevant design software including Amtech, ETAPS or SKM power systems analysis software is highly desirable.
A passion for accurate design of electrical systems is required.
