Fair Ways is seeking an unqualified teacher specializing in Digital Skills to join our teaching team at our Autism School at the Eastleigh campus. We focus on creating person-centered programs tailored to each child's needs, addressing social, emotional, and communication challenges associated with autism, and fostering independence and well-being. Many of our students have been out of education for a long time and have exhausted other placements.
* Can you teach students basic communication skills like word processing, email setup, and messaging?
* Could you teach online organization skills, such as using search engines and managing documents?
Your role as an unqualified digital skills teacher will include:
* Individualized lesson planning, delivery, and appropriate differentiation to ensure effective teaching.
* Supporting students in creating action plans for employment, education, and training, and helping them achieve these goals.
* Monitoring and assessing student progress, attainment, and outcomes within your subject area.
* Supporting the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Personal Education Plans (PEPs), providing relevant data for progress monitoring and planning.
* Collaborating with employers, colleges, universities, and training providers to create opportunities for students.
* Understanding and being willing to learn how early life experiences may contribute to challenging behaviors.
* Recognizing the potential need for positive handling strategies to ensure safety and working as part of a team.
This position is 37.5 hours per week, term-time only. Candidates must have a full driving license and access to a car. An enhanced DBS check is required, which will be paid for by Fair Ways.
Candidate requirements
* Minimum qualification of A Level or equivalent in a relevant subject, preferably with experience in education.
* Understanding of relevant legislation related to education and child protection policies.
