Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our project management team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in all aspects of the project.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in quality assurance and control, with excellent technical, project management, and communication skills. They will also possess a relevant qualification, such as a degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering.

Key responsibilities will include:
">
1. Assisting in the establishment and implementation of the Site QC program with subcontractors and monitoring their conformance;
">
2. Inspecting existing conditions prior to the start of new work packages;
">
3. Conducting pre-construction quality control meetings with the construction team prior to the commencement of each major item of work required by the contract;
">
4. Coordinating required tests, inspections, and demonstrations with clients or any other authorities having jurisdiction;
">
5. Inspecting purchased equipment arriving at the site to ensure conformance with the requirements of the contract/specification or purchase order;
">
6. Monitoring the repair or reconstruction of rejected work and documenting corrective action and preventive action;
">
7. Coordinating with 3rd party inspection to ensure that all required testing has been performed and that acceptable results have been achieved;
">
8. Advising field staff of quality and deficiencies detected during in-progress inspection and assisting and advising on any requirements and remedial actions;
">
9. Responsibility of site work documentation of conformance and inspections for the entire project period;
">
10. Ensuring that the final quality documentation file is always in line with the requirement, as specified in the contract;
">
11. Coordinating all project BCAR related documentation with assigned certifier, design teams, and subcontractors;
">
12. Reviewing and coordinating all material test reports in conjunction with structural engineer and site engineer, ensuring all non-conformances are identified and closed out to the satisfaction of the structural engineer and contracts manager in a timely manner.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have excellent CSA technical, project management, and written skills, and will be able to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines. They must also be able to liaise with others and work well as part of a team.

Requirements:

13. Excellent technical, project management, and written skills;

14. Level 8 or 9 in a relevant civil, structural or architectural qualification;

15. Minimum five years experience in a similar role;

16. Ability to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines;

17. Ability to liaise with others and work well as part of a team.
