About Us
We operate a unique lakeside wellness experience featuring two traditional barrel saunas right by the water — offering guests the perfect cycle of heat and cold-water immersion. We're expanding our facilities to include four ice baths, a wood-fired jacuzzi, and new toilet and changing areas.
We're looking for a hands-on, responsible, and welcoming individual to help run the day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for all guests.
Role Summary
The Sauna Staff member will oversee daily operations of the sauna, ice baths, and jacuzzi areas. This includes preparing and maintaining facilities, ensuring health and safety compliance, supporting guests, and managing operational procedures such as water quality checks and firewood management.
This is a front-facing role that combines guest hospitality with practical operational responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily Operations & Maintenance
* Open and close the sauna, ice bath, and jacuzzi facilities according to schedule.
* Ensure saunas and jacuzzi are at appropriate operating temperatures.
* Prepare and maintain ice baths (including ice replenishment and water quality checks).
* Keep facilities clean, tidy, and safe — including changing areas and toilets.
* Manage firewood and lighting of the wood-fired jacuzzi and saunas.
* Health, Safety & Compliance
* Conduct regular water quality testing and record results (for ice baths and jacuzzi).
* Monitor hygiene, chemical balance, and temperature in compliance with local health regulations.
* Ensure fire safety, correct use of heating equipment, and safe guest access around wet/slippery areas.
* Maintain and document compliance with relevant environmental and health standards.
* Guest Experience
* Greet and assist guests, providing guidance on sauna/ice bath use and safety.
* Encourage a respectful, calm, and relaxing environment.
* Answer guest questions and resolve minor issues promptly.
* General Support
* Report maintenance issues or supply shortages.
* Support event setups (e.g., wellness retreats or private bookings).
* Assist with bookings, check-ins, or merchandise sales if applicable.
Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience in hospitality, wellness, spa, or outdoor recreation preferred.
* Basic understanding of health & safety and hygiene standards.
* Confident working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Friendly, calm, and professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
* Physically capable of light manual work (e.g., firewood handling, cleaning, lifting).
* First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete training).
