The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the commercial aspects of major civils projects.
You will play a pivotal role in driving profitability, managing risks, and ensuring that contractual obligations are met to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects.
Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability.
Manage contracts, subcontracts, and procurement processes.
Oversee cost control, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Identify and mitigate project risks while maximising opportunities.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure effective communication.
Provide detailed commercial reports and financial analysis to senior management.
Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual terms, and legal regulations.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or in a senior commercial role within the civil engineering sector.
Comprehensive understanding of NEC and other relevant forms of contracts.
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable outcomes.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to lead and develop a commercial team.
Relevant degree or professional qualification in quantity surveying, construction management, or related field.
