Vision Contracting is seeking an IT and Digital Systems Manager to ensure that the organisation’s technology environment is well‑governed, secure, and aligned to business needs. This role is not intended to replace or replicate the technical functions of our External IT Provider. Instead, the IT and Digital Systems Manager will act as the internal owner of IT, providing direction, oversight, and coordination to ensure the business receives high‑quality services and that technology supports organisational goals.
Our External IT Provider remains fully responsible for hands‑on technical support, infrastructure management, system monitoring, patching, cybersecurity tooling, and day‑to‑day issue resolution. The IT and Digital Systems Manager’s role is to ensure that these services are delivered effectively, consistently, and in alignment with our business priorities and compliance requirements.
The IT and Digital Systems Manager will work across all departments to understand business needs, lead digital transformation initiatives, and guide the adoption of efficient, secure, and modern tools. They will serve as the internal advocate for technology improvements, the guardian of IT governance, and the key liaison between staff, leadership, and external technology partners.
Key Activities
IT Governance, Oversight & Internal Coordination

Act as Vision’s internal technology lead and primary point of escalation for IT matters.
Oversee the performance of the External IT Provider, ensuring adherence to SLAs, response times, and service quality.
Maintain internal IT policies, standards, shared drives and procedures (security, access, acceptable use, onboarding/offboarding).
Co‑ordinate internal activities required to support IT operations (e.g., gathering requirements, approving changes, communicating outages).

IT Asset & Licence Management

Maintain a complete asset register of all company devices, software licences, and cloud subscriptions.
Manage procurement of hardware/software in collaboration with the External IT Provider subject to requisite approvals from Finance.
Track device lifecycles, warranty status, and replacement cycles.
Ensure correct licence allocation and cost optimisation for users and systems.

Cybersecurity Oversight & Compliance

Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and internal security controls.
Coordinate external cybersecurity audits, penetration tests, and risk assessments.
Ensure the External IT Provider implements and maintains appropriate security controls (MFA, endpoint protection, patching, backups).
Deliver or coordinate cybersecurity training and awareness programmes for staff.
Monitor compliance with GDPR, data protection rules, and internal governance standards.
Lead a full review of the organisation’s technology stack to identify rationalisation, modernisation, and automation opportunities.
Partner with department heads to understand pain points, use cases and support adoption of digital tools, automation solutions, and process improvements.
Evaluate and introduce new technologies (SaaS, workflow automation, AI tools, RPA) with appropriate change management.

Required Experience

Experience working in an organisation that uses an External IT Provider including managing SLAs and performance reviews.
A track record of leading or contributing to digital transformation projects, system upgrades, or tech‑stack reviews.
Experience coordinating cybersecurity initiatives, such as audits, penetration tests, risk assessments, or staff awareness programmes.Hands‑on involvement in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and renewal cycles across multiple technology partners.
Prior responsibility for IT asset management, licensing oversight, or procurement processes.
Demonstrated success in cross‑functional collaboration, supporting business units with technology adoption or process automation
Experience developing or enforcing IT policies, standards, or governance frameworks.
Proven experience managing and challenging external IT providers and technology vendors.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity risks, controls, and audit coordination.
Ability to lead technology strategy, digital transformation, and automation initiatives.
Commercial awareness for budgeting, licensing, and evaluating technology investments
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills for assessing risks, trends, and service performance.
