Job Description
Job Title: Senior EHS Specialist
Company: Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Limerick
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is seeking a hardworking, highly motivated, and innovative individual to maintain and advance our EHS Program. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and corporate standards, driving best practices, developing our EHS culture, and ensuring the safety of all those who work on our site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and submit EHS reports, metrics, and documentation to management and regulatory agencies as needed.
2. Support the site’s EHS programs focusing on compliance, risk management, and continual improvement.
3. Ensure adherence to EHS regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
4. Design and deliver EHS training programs.
5. Collaborate with senior management and partners to establish and achieve EHS goals and objectives.
6. Support maintenance of EHS management systems including ISO14001.
7. Function as site administrator of the corporate EHS software system (CURVE), providing SME support, oversight, and training.
8. Provide analysis of EHS metrics and prepare reports.
9. Coordinate EHS audits with regulators, corporate, and certifying bodies.
10. Run the EHS audit and inspection program, conducting regular inspections and audits.
11. Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments, recommending corrective actions.
12. Act as SME on IOSS teams and for site e-Permit and contractor management systems.
13. Support business units, departments, and projects as EHS partner.
14. Investigate EHS events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
15. Manage industrial hygiene and chemicals programs.
16. Cultivate positive relationships to promote safety and environmental stewardship.
17. Support broader EHS program components as directed.
Qualifications
Education: Degree or equivalent in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
Experience and Skills:
* Proven EHS experience in manufacturing.
* Experience in implementing and maintaining EHS management systems.
* Experience with EHS management software.
* Knowledge of chemicals, chemical handling, and regulations.
* Knowledge of noise monitoring and control.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Understanding of permitting, LOTOTO, machinery safety principles.
* Problem-solving and incident investigation skills.
* Project management skills.
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
* IT skills and software proficiency.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
Preferred: Manual Handling Trainer, relevant EHS professional certifications.
