Overview
Our client is a leading garden design and build consultancy, providing high-quality landscaping solutions for residential and commercial clients. We are passionate about transforming outdoor spaces and take pride in delivering exceptional service. We are now seeking a Centre Manager to support our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in a garden centre, nursery, or a similar horticultural environment.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop and maintain relationships with customers at senior levels to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
* Retention rate of current customers, increased business with current customers. As per KPIs.
* Be the customer champion by providing top quality, fast, efficient and friendly service at all times.
* Build trusting relationships with our customers and provide excellent service and advice.
* Keen interest in and understanding of our product range and services.
Reporting
* Maintain & update the reporting templates in order to ensure that all work is being completed in a timely manner.
* Maintain accurate information on points and time of contact.
Stock
* Ensure that the correct stock is available to maximize sales.
* Optimize stock turnover by reducing slow selling stock.
* Maintain all stock to the highest standards.
Financial
* Maintain the minimum gross margin for all sales, monitored by the invoice margin analysis on a weekly basis.
Skills and Attributes
* Knowledge and Experience: Previous experience in a similar position is essential; excellent knowledge of Plants & landscape materials would be a good addition. Experience in exceptional customer care is preferred.
* Academic/Technical Qualifications: You will have suitable qualifications in key areas possibly with a desire to further your qualifications.
* Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel). Nursery management software knowledge would be good but not essential.
* Industry Experience: 5 years plus experience in Horticulture Nursery &/or Retail or related.
* Leadership/Management experience/capabilities: The ability to work alone without supervision is essential, to be a team player, set and meet targets as part of the team.
* Communication Skills: Honest and straightforward communication is essential with our customers and team. A pleasant and positive manner with team members & customers.
* Attitudes and Behaviour: Positive problem owner; ability to work well in teams, self-starter, pleasant/helpful/optimistic; ability to go the extra mile to achieve exceptional results.
