The Role The Senior Social Care Worker will play a key leadership role within the service, supporting individuals with complex needs while also supervising and guiding staff teams.
You will work directly with the people we support, ensuring their care plans and personal goals are delivered in a respectful, rights-based, and person-centred way.
Comprehensive training and development will be provided, including a structured induction prior to commencing in the service.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality social care support in line with individual Personal Centred Plans (PCPs) and care plans Provide leadership and day-to-day support to staff teams Supervise staff, manage rotas, and support effective team functioning Chair and contribute to team meetings Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care Promote independence, community participation, and skill development Uphold the rights, dignity, and choices of the people supported at all times Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice standards Qualifications Required Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: A full QQI Level 7 degree in Social Care / Applied Social Care (or equivalent Schedule 3 qualification) with a minimum of 6 months recent experience supporting individuals with complex needs; OR A relevant third-level degree (e.g. Social Work, Psychology) with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting individuals with complex needs AND Eligibility to register with CORU as a Social Care Worker Skills & Experience Minimum of one years recent experience working in a social care setting supporting individuals with complex needs Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience Experience managing staff rotas and supporting teams Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation within the social care sector Excellent communication skills and fluent English Ability to work independently and use initiative Full, clean drivers licence (essential) What the People We Support Value The people we support are looking for someone who: Takes the time to understand what matters to them Adapts communication to suit their individual needs Is patient, kind, engaging, and fun Supports them to learn new skills and gain confidence Encourages independence and community involvement Helps them understand their rights and make their own decisions
