Clinical Responsibilities:
* Being a role model to your team members by displaying exceptional abilities.
* Supporting the work of the clinician at the chairside.
* Having good knowledge of all areas of dentistry.
* Understanding the names of different instruments and materials used in the practice.
* Developing clinical skills and knowledge by taking part in courses.
* Auditing clinical standards throughout the clinic.
* Demonstrating outstanding organisational skills, with an ability to multitask and prioritise.
* Ensuring that the clinical setting is well organised and maintained for smooth running of the practice.
* Ensuring that equipment is safe to use and fixing any malfunctions in a timely manner. Reporting and consulting with senior dental staff as needed. Contributing to ongoing monitoring, auditing, and evaluation of the equipment.
* Supporting new dentists in completing their trials. If successful, supporting their settling into their new roles.
* Having a good understanding of the software "Exact" to be able to complete clinical tasks and train new dentists.
* Assisting with ordering of supplies as required, ensuring sufficient quantities to allow operation at capacity.
* Having a passion to positively impact the clinical team to maximise growth and skillset.
Administrative Responsibilities:
* Managing both clinical and administrative tasks as needed.
* Being an active participant in staff meetings and all aspects of service delivery.
* Maintaining a high standard of professional behaviour reflecting on fellow nurses and the dental team.
* Maintaining appropriate nursing records and reports regarding equipment and its efficacy.
* Being aware of, and complying with, principles of clinical governance including quality, risk, and health and safety. Being responsible for clinical governance, risk management, health and safety issues in your area of work.
* Participating in performance evaluations with your line manager, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate plans.
* Holding performance reviews for the clinical team, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and providing constructive feedback.
* Finding suitable candidates for clinical roles, conducting interviews, and holding trial sessions.
* Onboarding new clinical staff and ensuring all relevant documents are properly stored.
* Training and supporting team members to ensure they meet the clinical standards of the practice.
* Holding individual meetings to address team concerns.
* Organising team schedules, approving timesheets and holidays in a timely manner.
* Prioritising workload to meet the department's needs.
* Demonstrating effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
