Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client in Galway, are currently recruiting for the position of Clerical Officer, this post is at Grade III level, based in Galway.
This role is initially 3 months, with the working week consisting of 35 hours.
*This position may be subject to Garda Vetting and Foreign Police Clearance, if applicable you will be required to obtain these prior to commencing in this role* Principal Duties and Responsibilities: This post encompasses administrative responsibilities which include, but is not limited to the following: Reception duties including phone and email, sorting and logging post Diary management - managing the diary, email account of area of responsibility Word processing/excel and OHD in-house OPAS System Data Entry Managing clinical appointments (booking/arranging/changing appointments) Filing and Scanning of Department files Preparation of documents for meetings if required General day to day administration duties as required Liaison with patients/clients/managers/stakeholders/service users Covering leave for other admin staff Support all quality and GDPR matters as required Liaising with staff and the public as appropriate to respond to queries and for the completion of assigned tasks Ensure the efficient day-to-day administration of area of responsibility Ensure that deadlines are met, and service levels maintained Ensure that service users are treated with dignity and respect Perform general administrative tasks as required by the employer Essential Criteria: Excellent telephone and communication skills Previous clerical/administration experience supporting a busy department/team is required.
Proficiency in computer skills particularly excel, Microsoft outlook, Microsoft word and a general high level of current technical expertise Demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team Demonstrate the ability to plan and organise own workload in an effective and methodical manner within strict deadlines Demonstrate commitment to providing a quality service This is an immediate requirement and selected candidates will be required to engage in a shortlisting process where further details of the role will be provided.
