Responsibilities
1. Deliver high-quality care and assistance to residents as per their individual care plans and instructions from the Centre Management.
2. Ensure that the main principles of the National Standards of Residential Child Care (dignity, privacy, choice, safety, realising potential, and equality and diversity) are reflected within the service provided.
3. Advise the Social Care Manager of any changes in the young people's needs.
4. Support young people in accessing information in an appropriate format, allowing them to make informed choices.
5. Be responsible for ensuring that the young people's care plans and placement plans are implemented through practice.
6. Support young people and staff to be aware of all aspects of safety.
7. Liaise with the Social Care Manager, Deputy Social Care Manager, Social Care Leader, and staff on issues related to the centre.
8. Set and demonstrate good standards of work practice.
9. Adhere to and implement the policies and procedures of the company.
10. Attend training relevant to the centre.
11. Be accountable for your own actions and for your personal and professional development.
12. Attend and participate in professional supervision.
13. Work positively with family members and other professionals.
14. Perform any other duties reasonably requested by your line manager or senior manager relevant to the key responsibilities of the post.
Qualifications
1. A minimum Level 7 qualification, preferably in Applied Social Care.
2. A minimum Level 7 qualification in Nursing, Psychology, Teaching, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Social Work, Social Sciences, or Youth and Community Work will also be considered.
3. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practice of social care.
4. Full Driving License.
5. Currently undertaking or holding a CORU-recognised Social Care Qualification.
