Social Care Professional
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team delivering trauma-informed care to young people. The role involves developing positive attachments through relationship building, creating a therapeutic environment and encouraging participation in the programme.
You will have the chance to work collaboratively with a team of professionals to deliver robust, holistic care to children and young people. Your responsibilities will include working with clients, household management, administration, teamwork, professional development and health and safety.
The successful candidate will participate in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans, promote the rights and responsibilities of each client, and encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments.
Liaising with parents, family members, general services and other agencies is also an essential aspect of this role. Meetings will be attended to discuss the care and development of clients, and engagement in age-appropriate play and activities is required. Physical intervention may be necessary in certain situations, in accordance with local policies and procedures.
The Social Care Professional will also promote the participation of children and young people in decision-making on issues affecting their lives, prepare and provide balanced meals, and undertake various aspects of home management. Written and verbal reports will be made to the line manager on the progress of clients' development, and adherence to child protection procedures is essential.
This position requires ongoing professional training and development to keep up-to-date with current legislation and professional childcare knowledge. Knowledge of HIQA standards and compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines is also expected.
Requirements:
* Registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU or hold a CORU approved qualification and have applied for registration.
* Highest standard of suitability and ability to discharge duties properly.
