Office & Research Support Manager
Cancer Trials Ireland (CTI) is a national academic not-for-profit organisation coordinating and supporting investigator-led cancer clinical trials in Ireland. Working in partnership with clinicians, researchers, universities, hospitals, and funders, CTI aims to improve outcomes for patients with cancer through high-quality academic research.
Base Pay Range
Salary: 50‑55K for full-time, 0.8 FTE considered. Actual pay is based on skills and experience.
The Role
The postholder plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of CTI’s operations while also supporting staff in identifying research funding opportunities, coordinating grant submissions, and assisting with grant reporting. The role is onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Office Management Operations: manage day-to-day administration, coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, track follow-up actions, maintain records, filing systems, onboard new staff, and liaise with suppliers.
IT Digital Systems: act as primary IT liaison, support staff with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, manage document libraries, access permissions, version control, troubleshoot routine issues, and improve administrative processes and digital workflows.
Research Support Grant Coordination: monitor and circulate funding opportunities, maintain a calendar of funding calls, assist with grant submissions and internal approvals, support collaboration with partner institutions, maintain records of grants, and assist with post-award reporting.
Stakeholder Liaison: act as administrative point of contact with universities, research offices, hospitals, and funding bodies; support CTI’s Head of Communications and Head of Marketing in stakeholder communication and collaboration.
Essential
Relevant experience in office management, research administration, or research support, ideally in a university, research institute, healthcare, or not-for-profit setting.
Strong technical and digital skills, particularly in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently using own initiative while contributing effectively to a small team.
Desirable
Experience supporting research grant applications and/or reporting.
Familiarity with the Irish research funding landscape.
Experience acting as an IT or systems liaison in a small organisation.
Experience working in a clinical or academic research environment.
