FIMA DEVELOPMENTS LTD Safety Officer Description We are recruiting for a Safety Officer to join us here at Fima Developments for our projects in Dublin and specifically our latest one commencing in Leixlip. Key Responsibilities and Duties Work closely with the in-house team and on-site to proactively identify and mitigate health and safety risks, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Foster a strong workplace health and safety culture ensuring ongoing communication with managers, safety representatives, and employees. Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures to mitigate risks and improve safety. Participate in site H&S meetings with management and operational teams, lead risk reviews, and oversee incident investigations and reporting. Identify and schedule mandatory and ongoing safety training, ensuring timely delivery. Create and share health and safety materials, such as toolbox talks and safety alerts, to drive continuous improvement. Organize and lead safety campaigns to promote a strong safety culture across the business. Maintain training records and matrices to ensure accurate documentation. Implement the H&S management system, coaching and guiding teams at all levels to meet regulatory, statutory, and internal health & safety requirements. Continuously Update our Safe T Cert management system. Regularly review and update H&S policies, ensuring all employees are informed and engaged. Oversee emergency procedures including fire safety Investigate, document, and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions. Regularly review and update Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and the Safety Statement. Monitor and ensure adherence to safety procedures and standards across all operations. Track and report on key H&S metrics, incidents, non-compliances, and improvement initiatives. Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and contractors on site Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of health and safety policy's and procedures Be up to date with all current legislations and promoting a positive safety culture across all operations Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with site regulations Create and maintain all H&S documentation including RAMS, Safety statement etc. Investigate accidents and near misses, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions. Monitor and evaluate health and safety performance Ensure PPE compliance across all sites Deliver toolbox talks and regular training on site Liase with site management with the safe planning of works. Requirements A third level qualification in Safety, Cert, Diploma or Degree. Proven minimum 1years experience of working on a construction site preferably at groundworks or civil engineering. Experience working with a main contractor, Ground work/Civils subcontractor. Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations Excellent English Written and Spoken communication skills. Attention to Detail. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Project, and PowerPoint. Benefits for you?
