Job Summary:
The Calibration Technician will assist in the calibration, testing and repair of a variety of standard instrumentation and specialist equipment, to meet the relevant industry practices and regulations, as directed by the Calibration Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform calibrations on temperature, humidity, pressure, weight, flow, speed, conductivity, pH, and viscosity instrumentation, in line with company and cGMP procedures and requirements.
2. Investigate, diagnose, and rectify instrumentation faults arising during calibration.
3. Immediate traceable reporting of calibration non-conformances,
4. and ensuring deviation reports are generated if required.
5. Enter calibration records into CMMS system in accordance with ALCOA+ principles
6. Ensure that calibration reference standards used are in date, and labelled as such,
7. and notify Calibration Lead of pending out-of-date equipment in a timely manner.
8. Keep up to date with all relevant site training requirements.
9. Maintain an organized, clean, and tidy working environment in line with 5S pillars.
10. Adhere to approved company EHS risk assessments for performing elevated risk calibration activities and report all accidents / near misses / unsafe conditions to site EHS.
11. Support on site routine safety inspections and Gemba walks relating to calibration activities.
12. Adhere to all HR policies and procedures, including timely reporting of absences.
13. Perform other duties as may be deemed appropriate by Calibration Lead and that fall within the general remit of the post.
Essential Requirements:
14. Time served Electrical & Instrumentation apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in Electronics / Instrumentation / Control Systems, City and Guilds FTC in Electronics or Control & Instrumentation, or equivalent qualifications.
15. Previous experience of calibration activities within the pharmaceutical industry, especially in Clean Rooms, or in a similarly highly regulated manufacturing environment.
16. Proven track record of problem-solving issues associated with instrumentation / measurement devices.
17. Previous experience in CMMS systems for recording calibration records – SAP / Maximo / ProCal.
18. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
19. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
20. Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
21. Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment.
22. Proven ability to see activities through to completion.
