Role Overview The Transport Planner will be responsible for the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of daily road transport operations. The ideal candidate will bring experience in international transport planning-either import or export-with strong knowledge of road freight, trailer management, and cross border logistics. Key Responsibilities *Plan and coordinate daily road and trailer movements across Ireland and international markets. *Manage import or export transport schedules, ensuring timely and cost effective delivery. *Liaise with drivers, hauliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operational flow. *Optimise routing, trailer utilisation, and load planning to maximise efficiency. *Monitor transport progress and resolve any operational issues or delays promptly. *Ensure compliance with transport regulations, company policies, and health & safety standards. *Update and maintain transport systems with accurate and timely data. *Provide excellent customer service through proactive communication and problem resolution. Requirements *Previous experience in transport planning - international import or export planning highly desirable. *Strong working knowledge of road freight operations and trailer planning. *Excellent organisational, multitasking, and problem solving skills. *Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high level of accuracy. *Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships. *IT savvy with experience using transport management systems (TMS) an advantage. *Proactive, collaborative and solution focused.
