Manufacturing Engineer- Medical Device start-upAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be a key contributor within a multidisciplinary engineering team. The role involves supporting technology advancement initiatives, including developing new manufacturing processes, advancing device concepts, and validating novel technologies and methods. You will work closely on the development and manufacture of medical technologies, contributing to both manufacturing operations and product design and development activities.How You'll ContributeLead the development of new device manufacturing methodsRapidly prototype product and fixture concepts using standard catheter building equipment and techniques, including 3D printingPerform modelling and mechanical analysis using SolidWorks or similar toolsWork with medical grade polymers, ideally in a medical device manufacturing environmentConceive, develop, and optimise manufacturing processesDesign fixtures, models, and tools for proof of concept, verification, and validation testingSupport, document, and contribute to the development of novel medical technologyParticipate in verification and validation of new product designsPrepare development project plans, specifications, and schedulesCollaborate with external vendors to source engineering materials, processes, and equipmentContribute to intellectual property development through innovation and technical problem solvingMust HaveDegree in EngineeringMinimum of 3 years' experience in the medical device industryA hands on mindset with strong practical problem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to rapidly prototype fixture and product concepts using manufacturing equipment and 3D printingStrong proficiency in mechanical modelling and analysis (SolidWorks or similar)Experience working with medical device polymersStrong aptitude for process verification, validation, and process developmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative mindset with the ability to contribute positively within dynamic team environmentsCommitment to ongoing personal development and continuous improvementDesire to stay up to date with engineering knowledge related to product design, manufacturing, and prototyping techniques
