About the Role:
EPS Group has an immediate vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join our Contracts team assigned to projects in North Leinster.
As part of our growing team, you will be responsible for electrical engineering activities on Wastewater Treatment Plants and Water Treatment Plants.
No two days will be the same, so your activities will vary and will be agreed with the Contracts Manager on an ongoing basis. You will support the design team through the process up to and including onsite installation and commissioning.
This role offers varied and challenging responsibilities, providing invaluable exposure to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
2. Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams to support troubleshooting and system integration.
3. Complete electrical design reviews to identify gaps and deviations in specifications.
4. Validate cable sizing and make appropriate recommendations.
5. Compile and issue technical submittals.
6. Ensure compliance with electrical codes (NSAI Irish Standard I.S. 10101:2020 IEC, WIMES), safety regulations, and environmental standards.
7. Manage electrical aspects of projects and liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure a robust procurement process.
8. Review electrical installations with the BIM team to ensure constructibility and adequate space for equipment and cabling.
9. Liaise with the design team and supply chain to ensure system compliance with specifications and drawings.
10. Manage specialist vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion of works.
11. Develop Site Instruction Packs, Handover Packs, and Test Packs as required.
12. Participate in quality meetings and QA/QC walk-downs as needed.
13. Review and respond to technical queries from site regarding specifications, drawings, materials, and equipment.
14. Issue requisitions and verify that delivered materials meet specifications and submittals.
15. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including automation, mechanical, civil, and process engineers.
Key Competencies and Skills:
* Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a related industry.
* Technical knowledge of 3-phase industrial installations, including motors, starters, control panels, PLCs, and instrumentation.
* Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
* Experience with AutoCAD and Trimble for electrical design and layout.
* Strong knowledge of Safe Electric certification.
* Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
* Leadership ability and responsibility for project completion.
Qualifications:
* Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Full EU/Irish driving license.
