The Senior Microsoft Collaboration Engineer will lead the design, optimisation, and governance of Laya Healthcare's Microsoft 365 environment, with a focus on
SharePoint Online

.
You will work closely with IT, security, compliance, and business teams to deliver scalable collaboration solutions, enhance digital workplace productivity, and ensure our M365 services are secure, intuitive, and aligned with organisational standards.
This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex requirements into effective and user-friendly digital solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
SharePoint Online Architecture & Governance
Lead the design, configuration, and administration of SharePoint Online environments.
Develop and maintain modern SharePoint sites, libraries, permission models, workflows, and governance structures.
Define and uphold best practices for information architecture, metadata, security, and lifecycle management.
Partner with business teams to translate requirements into scalable, modern SharePoint solutions.
Microsoft Teams Management & Optimisation
Oversee Teams governance including structure, lifecycle management, compliance policies, and integrations.
Implement best practices for chat, meetings, collaboration spaces, and secure sharing.
Drive adoption of Teams as the central hub for digital collaboration across the organisation.
Microsoft Copilot (AI Productivity Enablement)
Act as subject-matter expert for Copilot deployment, adoption, policy management, and optimisation.
Train teams on responsible and effective AI usage across the M365 suite.
Identify processes that can be enhanced or automated using AI and work with business units to implement improvements.
Monitor usage analytics and refine AI strategies to maximise impact and value.
OneDrive for Business
Manage OneDrive configuration, sync issues, governance, and data protection.
Develop best practices for secure file storage, sharing, and lifecycle management.
Strategy, Governance & Continuous Improvement
Serve as a senior technical escalation point for collaboration platform issues.
Maintain and enhance M365 governance frameworks, standards, and security alignment.
Lead adoption initiatives, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities across the business.
Contribute to roadmap planning, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to support organisational goals.
About You
Essential
5+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
Deep expertise in
SharePoint Online
including architecture, permissions, automation, and modern UI design.
Strong experience with
Microsoft Teams
configuration, rollout, and lifecycle governance.
Practical knowledge of
Copilot for Microsoft 365
and AI-driven productivity tools.
Proficiency in
OneDrive for Business
and data synchronisation management.
Strong understanding of security, compliance, and identity management (Azure AD).
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical ability and a structured approach to diagnosing and resolving issues.
Desirable
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700, MS-900, MS-102, SC-900, Power Platform).
Experience with Power Automate or Power Apps.
Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) or M365 security tooling.
Experience supporting hybrid environments or cloud migration.
Regulatory Requirements
As part of the Financial Regulator's Minimum Competency Requirements, you may be required to attain a Certified Insurance Practitioner accreditation or equivalent.
If applicable, your Line Manager will confirm this and outline any associated CPD requirements.
