We are seeking a full-time Underwriter (hybrid work of 2-3 days) in our Dublin, Ireland office to manage a profitable, well-balanced, and growing portfolio with allocated intermediaries and customers, helping meet the company's long-term trading objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Handle end-to-end straightforward cases within your team, visiting intermediaries/customers as needed, to deliver business development plans aligned with the company's trading strategy.
2. Make effective on-site decisions within your delegated authority to ensure efficient work completion.
3. Develop strong relationships with intermediaries, balancing their needs with the company's trading goals to foster profitable growth.
4. Plan and organize your work to meet customer service and credit control targets.
5. Maintain accurate records for intermediaries in collaboration with the Distribution Team to facilitate effective communication and marketing initiatives.
6. Identify, define, and close business opportunities, consulting with team members to ensure swift and effective business proposals.
7. Serve as a reference point on issues within your authority level, providing high customer service and referring complex issues to senior Underwriters.
8. Assist in maintaining a balanced, high-quality portfolio by utilizing gathered information effectively.
9. Perform other duties as directed within your role's scope.
10. Promote good conduct to deliver optimal outcomes for customers and policyholders.
11. Understand escalation procedures and responsibilities related to the Product Conduct Risk Strategy Group, Underwriting & Claims Subcommittee, ExCo, and the Board regarding Conduct Risk.
Knowledge and Skills
1. Build and maintain strong internal relationships with underwriting, claims, sales, development teams, syndicates, and directors.
2. Develop and sustain external relationships with contacts within intermediaries and customers.
