Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Power Generation Projects
Location: Moneypoint (Site-Based)
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (with potential for extension or relocation to other projects)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts. Occasional Saturdays may be required.

Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a major energy infrastructure project. The role involves overseeing the mechanical installation of new auxiliary boiler systems and ash injection systems as part of a large-scale fuel transition project at a major power generation facility.
This is a site-based role for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions in a complex industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise the installation of major mechanical systems including boilers, ash injection units, tanks, piping, and associated infrastructure.
* Lead site-based mechanical contracts, liaising closely with contractors, project teams, and internal engineering specialists.
* Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Implement and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), participate in audits, and oversee commissioning procedures.
* Track project progress, manage costs, and report to the Site and Project Managers.
* Support tooling, procurement, contract management, and technical documentation processes.
* Attend project meetings, FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), and support final mechanical close-out reporting
Requirements:
Essential:
* Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
* Strong background in mechanical installation within the power generation or heavy industry sectors.
* Hands-on site experience with mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, tanks, and piping.
* Solid understanding of safety and environmental standards and procedures.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong IT skills, including MS Office and document control systems.
* Physical ability to work on construction sites.
* Eligible to work in Ireland and possess Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
Desirable:
* Experience working with public utilities or large infrastructure companies.
* Chartered Engineer status.
* NFQ Level 8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
