Job Description
Our client, McGrath's Limestone (Cong) Limited, based in Cong, Co. Mayo, is currently seeking HGV Mechanics for immediate start at their head office.
Responsibilities
Fit, install, maintain, service and repair engines and related equipment of heavy goods vehicles.
Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts.
Fit, examine, test and service heavy goods vehicles and engines.
Replace engine components or complete engines.
Fit, examine, adjust, dismantle, rebuild and replace defective parts of HGVs.
Use vehicle diagnostics and repair ABS/EBS brake systems.
Diagnose and repair trucks, trailers and vans.
Install and adjust motors, brakes and steering.
Install, adjust and service mechatronics components of HGVs.
Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and engine tune‑ups to ensure smooth running and compliance with pollution regulations.
Reassemble engines and parts after repairs.
Qualifications
2–3 years of experience as an HGV mechanic.
Mechanic certification preferred but not mandatory.
Experience in installing and adjusting motors, brakes and steering.
Experience in installing, adjusting and servicing mechatronics components of HGVs.
Experience in scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes and engine tune‑ups.
Ability to perform diagnostics and repairs on trucks, trailers, vans, and HGVs.
Knowledge of ABS/EBS brake systems.
Experience as a mechanic in the quarry industry preferred.
Benefits
Annual remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour.
