TTM Healthcare are proud to partner with our client in the public sector to recruit for a temporary Grade III Clerical Officer in Kilkenny.
Location: Kilkenny Position: Grade III Clerical Officer Hours: Full time, 9-5, 35 hours per week Pay: €*****-€***** depending on previous relevant public sector experience Contract: temporary 6month contract Key Responsibilities: Collecting discharge charts daily from all hospital wards.
Reviewing and coding charts according to departmental procedures.
Logging and updating patient discharge information on the hospital database / patient administration system.
Ensuring all records are complete, accurate, and compliant with data protection requirements.
Maintaining an efficient filing system for medical charts and discharge documentation.
Liaising with ward clerks, nursing staff, and medical records personnel to ensure timely return and processing of charts.
Assisting in the preparation of statistics, reports, and audit data when required.
Performing general clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and filing.
Supporting other administrative duties within the Medical Records Department as needed.
Skills and Qualifications: Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a healthcare or hospital environment.
Good working knowledge of office systems and databases (MS Office, email, patient administration systems).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to manage time efficiently.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Willingness to undertake a physically active role, involving frequent movement between wards.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
Desirable: Familiarity with medical chart coding or hospital discharge processes.
Experience working in a public sector or HSE environment.
