Purpose of the Role: The post of CNM 2 has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and resources within the Endocrine Bone Health Service. The post holder will: Be responsible for a clinical caseload in the Endocrine Department and throughout the hospital. Manage the Bone Health Assessment unit- a nurse led service aimed at reducing waiting times for patients being assessed for rare bone disorders. Plan and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary specialty clinics for children with rare bone disorders (Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Achondroplasia etc.) Work alongside Endocrine Consultant and Research Nurse to aid in identifying patients who may wish to participate in upcoming clinical research. Provide a service which optimises quality and continuity of care for children attending Endocrinology Services. Co-ordinate a service that provides continuity of care for Children within the endocrine service. Establish and maintain good working relationships with nursing, Consultants and medical staff involved in the provision of quality care to children. Plan implement, deliver, and evaluate all care given to the child and family. Be a resource for colleagues, allied professionals and an advocate for the child and family whilst ensuring competence in the area of specialty practice. Each candidate must, at the latest date for receipt of completed applications for the post possess: 1. Professional Qualifications & Experience Are registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) or entitled to be so registered. And Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 must be in the speciality of Acute Medical/Surgical or Day Services and experience with Endocrine conditions And Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role And Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
