About the Role
We need a hands-on, hyper-curious “digital native” who lives in the weeds of social trends, emerging platforms, and data-driven optimisation. You will own end-to-end content creation—ideation, video production, copy, graphics, publishing—and obsessively track performance to inform the next post, campaign, or channel pivot. You will also represent the organisation confidently in senior settings, combining creative flair with polished professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Area What You’ll Do
* Scout, test, and recommend new platforms (Bluesky, Threads, Lemon8, etc.)
* Maintain live dashboards of cultural, social, and tech trends that influence audience behaviour.
Full-Stack Content Creation
* Shoot, edit, and publish short-form video, motion graphics, carousels, interactive stories, and live streams—daily/weekly cadence.
* Craft thumb-stopping copy and headlines tuned to each platform’s algorithm and audience mindset.
Data, Analytics & Growth Hacking
* Own channel analytics (GA4, native insights, third-party tools).
* Run A/B tests on creative, posting times, hooks, and formats.
* Translate data into clear growth actions; build weekly “what worked / next test” reports.
Community & Engagement
* Drive real-time interaction, moderating comments and sparking conversation that boosts reach and dwell time.
* Develop playbooks for crisis response and high-impact moments.
Stakeholder & Client Facing
* Present creative rationale and performance insights to senior leadership and public-sector stakeholders.
* Balance edgy, platform-native ideas with brand tone and reputational considerations.
Process & Up-skilling
* Mentor wider team on emerging tools (CapCut, Premiere Rush, Midjourney, Sora, etc.).
Must-Have Skills & Experience
* Ultra-current social fluency—you can explain the latest TikTok hook, Bluesky culture, or algorithm tweak without Googling.
* Hands-on production—comfort behind a camera (phone or mirrorless), in Adobe Creative Suite/CapCut, and basic motion or 3-D.
* Proven track record of follower and engagement growth through data-led experimentation (please share results).
* Deep knowledge of channel analytics, UTM tracking, GA4, social listening, and A/B frameworks.
* Ability to translate insights into next-step actions and clear, jargon-free reports.
* Confident presenter with the professional polish to brief C-suite executives, TDs, or media.
* 3–5 years in a high-volume digital publisher, brand newsroom, or social-first agency.
Nice-to-Have
* Experience in public-sector or corporate communications environments.
* Familiarity with accessibility best practices, SEO for social, and paid social optimisation.
* Working knowledge of generative-AI creative tools (video, audio, copy).
Success After 6 Months
* Platform growth targets hit (follower +% and engagement rate).
* Documented test-and-learn roadmap driving continual content improvements.
* Team confidence in new-platform recommendations and data storytelling.
* Recognised internally as the go-to expert for “what’s next” in social.
