St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for adults with intellectual disabilities and children with complex needs. Founded in 1968, the Foundation has grown through responding to the needs of people with disabilities and complex needs. We are currently recruiting highly motivated Psychologists for our Children's Teams in North Cork, in newly appointed buildings.


Overview of the Post

The post involves working as a member of the interdisciplinary Children's Disability Network Team, providing quality services in a Family Centred Practice model to children aged 0-18 years and their families. Responsibilities include assessment, universal, targeted, and direct interventions within an interdisciplinary setting across various environments such as clinics, schools, preschools, children's homes, and community settings.

* 1 WTE role in Fermoy (Basic Grade)
* 0.6 WTE role in Charleville (Basic Grade)
* 1 WTE role in Mallow (Basic Grade)

Qualifications and Experience:

* University degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) with Psychology as a major, with 1st or 2nd class honours.
* Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
* Demonstrated competence in the relevant Care Group(s).
* For senior roles: at least five years post-graduate experience in professional psychology, including a minimum of two years post-qualification experience, with specific experience in health settings related to Child Disability.
* Evidence of supervised clinical placements or work experience totaling at least 60 days in relevant health settings.


Responsibilities:

* Conduct psychological assessments and prepare reports.
* Design and implement interventions for children with complex needs and behaviors of concern.
* Participate in developing Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
* Provide psychological therapies and family support, including counseling and guidance.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and external agencies.
* Contribute to service development and research initiatives.
* Stay updated with current research and best practices in Children's Disability services.
* Manage a caseload effectively and ethically.
