Machine Learning Engineer - Threat Protection Specialist
As a seasoned Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge machine learning driven solutions to protect the digital lives of our customers. You will leverage your expertise in traditional ML, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Generative AI to identify new opportunities for application across the personal security space. This includes improving McAfee's threat protection capabilities.
This is a position located in Ireland, with a focus on collaboration with an international team. You will use your data visualization and storytelling skills to present research findings to various stakeholders, including senior executives.
About the Role:
- Develop machine learning models that apply subject matter expertise in traditional ML, LLMs, and Generative AI
- Identify opportunities to improve existing protection capabilities using supervised and unsupervised modeling techniques
- Apply data wrangling skills toward cleaning data and building data pipelines from which to implement model monitoring dashboards and machine learning models
- Use data mining and exploration skills on raw and cleaned data in various formats to uncover insights for data-driven decision making
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities utilizing big data from multiple sources
- Convey research results through data visualization techniques and storytelling skills with recommendations backed by data
- Own data science projects of varying scope from concept to delivery, focusing on delivering a solution to address the original problem statement
About You:
- You have 5-7 years of experience building high-quality machine learning models
- Experience in fine-tuning LLMs and classification is crucial
- You possess a Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields
- Extensive experience with Python, PySpark, R, SQL, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Databricks
- Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely in collaboration with an international team
- Strong problem-solving skills applicable to data wrangling, exploratory data analysis, data visualization, model development, model measurement, model deployment, and model monitoring
