The Role
An opportunity is available for an ambitious Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join a Dublin-based team. The successful candidate will bring strong technical capability and hands‑on experience across all phases of mechanical engineering projects, including design, construction, and implementation. You’ll be expected to champion safety, quality, and client satisfaction, ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Represent the project team at client design and progress meetings, and communicate outcomes to internal stakeholders.
Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and schedules to understand scope, ensure compliance, and support programme delivery.
Complete design reviews to ensure alignment with specifications, applicable standards, and industry best practice.
Ensure installations are delivered in line with project specifications and client requirements.
Develop engineering solutions as required, including calculations and sketches for client approval.
Review coordinated construction drawings and updated design documentation.
Identify scope changes and cost/programme variances, and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.
Manage procurement activities, including technical submittals and procurement schedules.
Review specialist supplier packages for compliance with specifications, standards, and design intent.
Produce a project-specific commissioning plan.
Review the BCAR preliminary inspection plan and coordinate with the quality team.
Role Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
4+ years’ relevant experience.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, design tools, and software.
Solid project management and problem-solving/diagnostic capability.
Comfortable making decisions under pressure and working to strict deadlines.
Good understanding of relevant regulations and mechanical safety standards.
