Forbidden Planet is a household name for Pop Culture. Established in 1975 the group now has eighteen stores across the UK and Ireland selling a vast range of toys, collectibles, graphic novels, comics, sci-fi, movie and TV merchandise.

Our team work tirelessly to ensure that we are able to source and stock the latest Manga books, trading cards, action figures, designer toys, comics, clothing, or merchandise from all over the world.
Role Summary:
On a daily basis, your responsibility is to provide support to the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, creating a positive culture where people can thrive. By doing so, you enable our customers to become an integral part of the Forbidden Planet community.
You will need to ensure your people are trained well, performing to the best of their ability, and that you are managing all aspects of your store, including resources, stock, data, and health and safety.
40 hours a week, Monday to Sunday, including some extended hours, bank holidays, and participation in an annual stock-take.
Holidays: 30 per annum, including bank holidays
Reports to: Retail Store Manager
Responsibilities
* managing and motivating a small team of dedicated pop culture fans who make up our staff.
* human resource duties including recruiting, hiring, training, managing schedules, assigning responsibilities.
* maintain store standards, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to company policies and procedures including health and safety.
* ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
* managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control in tandem with our buying and management team.
* analysing and identifying pop culture trends to apply to our sales offering.
* providing or organising training and development.
* responding to customer complaints and comments.
* organising special promotions, displays and events.
* having an active role on the shop floor including staff to customer sales.
* cash handling, banking, other forms of online payments
* keyholder
* keep up to date with product information.
Skills & Qualifications
You will need to show evidence of the following:
* a positive, optimistic can-do attitude when interacting with staff and customers.
* effective leadership and the ability to motivate and coach others.
* proficiency in inventory management, visual merchandising, and retail operations
* the ability to plan and prioritise workloads and delegate accordingly.
* customer focused.
* the capacity to grasp new concepts quickly.
* the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
* a desire to work as part of a team to generate fresh and innovative ideas.
* three or more years proven retail experience at similar level.
* proven microsoft office suite and social media experience.
* extensive computer skills in POS.
