Position Overview: As the Junior Frontend Engineer, you will be an integral part of our engineering team as we build and maintain our cutting-edge platform using the best software engineering practices and industry standards while collaborating with our engineering, UI/UX design, architecture, and product management teams and stakeholders. Our platform leverages our proprietary artificial intelligence to address the complex challenges of fraud detection, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance in the financial industry. In this position, you will be an active contributor to the full software development life cycle, including, but not limited to: user interface development, integration with APIs, data management, and automated testing. How you'll contribute: Develop clean, readable, and reusable code with the appropriate test implementation. Collaborate with software engineers, architects, UI/UX designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions. Participate in code reviews and other peer review processes (e.g. pair programming) to ensure code quality and security practices. Work with the engineering team to triage product and system issues, including debugging and monitoring, aiming to resolve problems and identify root causes. Actively identify, investigate, and assess new frontend technologies, frameworks, and tools. Engage with the team to deepen your understanding of our products and technologies, aiming to take increasing ownership of features and components over time. Conduct hands-on evaluations and develop proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate the practical application of promising technologies, showcasing their core features and potential benefits. Build knowledge of prototyping design tools such as Figma to access and work directly with design assets, ensuring accurate implementation and collaboration with our UI/UX design team. Contribute to our high-quality documentation such as API specifications and internal architecture designs. Participate in conversations and workshops with stakeholders to understand requirements and identify solutions and opportunities. Desired Experience: 1-3 years of experience in application development. Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant discipline, or relevant experience. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable discussing technical information and working in a supportive, collaborative environment. A strong sense of curiosity and an eagerness to continuously learn and understand underlying logic and new technologies. Knowledge of web programming languages (Javascript, HTML, CSS). Knowledge of web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue, etc). Experience working with Typescript. Knowledge of UX best practices. Other skills we value: Experience working in the financial services, financial technology, or risk management industry. Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Cypress, Playwright). Experience working with RESTful APIs. Experience working with relational databases. Experience implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
