Role OverviewThe Accounting Assistant supports the daily financial operations of the organization and plays an important role in maintaining accurate and organized accounting records. This position assists with routine bookkeeping, transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial documentation. Working closely with accountants and finance team members, the Accounting Assistant helps ensure smooth workflows, timely reporting cycles, and compliance with internal procedures.Key Responsibilities• Process invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.• Support accounts payable tasks, including verifying vendor information, preparing payments, and monitoring outstanding balances.• Assist with accounts receivable by preparing invoices, recording payments, and following up on overdue accounts.• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy and consistency.• Help reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.• Organize and maintain digital and physical financial files, ensuring that documents are complete and easily accessible.• Prepare spreadsheets, summaries, and basic financial reports for review by senior team members.• Communicate with internal departments to collect missing information or clarify discrepancies.• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliation support.• Follow established accounting guidelines and contribute to improving administrative and financial processes.Qualifications and Requirements• Bachelor's degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.• 1–3 years of experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, or administrative roles.• Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts, financial documentation, and transaction workflows.• Proficiency with spreadsheet software and familiarity with accounting systems or ERP platforms.• High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.• Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.• Good communication skills for coordinating with colleagues, vendors, and clients.• Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new tools and accounting procedures.• Dependable, proactive, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.SummaryThe Accounting Assistant plays a key role in supporting financial operations and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
