Guest Services Porter Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Guest Services Porter to join our growing team at Kilkea Castle Hotel. This 140 bedroom resort is set on 180 acres of landscape, gardens and ancient woodland, offering a tranquil spa, an 18-hole championship golf course and world-class culinary experiences.
Job Title: Guest Services Porter
Reporting to:
Reception Manager
The successful candidate will provide exceptional service to all guests and maintain the lobby areas to the highest standard of cleanliness, hygiene, safety and security.
1. To always provide efficient and friendly service to guests, communicate with hotel guests in a polite and friendly manner, and ensure all guests are served with a polite, friendly and efficient service at all times.
2. To perform all duties as outlined by the relevant supervisor/manager.
3. To be responsible for assisting guests with luggage upon arrival, delivering guest luggage to rooms and collecting guest luggage from rooms.
4. To be responsible for amenities such as cards, chocolates, welcome plates, drinks etc.
5. To place newspapers in the lobby.
6. To assist with delivering cots and camp beds to arriving rooms.
7. To store away these items after departure of the guests.
8. To keep storerooms clean, stocked up and tidy to the standards of the hotel.
9. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 20-50 lbs and constantly moving furniture and/or appliances correctly and safely.
10. Responsible for light maintenance tasks and services throughout the property.
11. To report any problems to the Manager on duty during your shift.
12. To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health & safety of yourself, other employees, guests, and other persons on the premises.
13. All complaints are to be dealt with immediately.
14. Ensure all complaints are logged with Duty Manager no matter how minor they are.
**Requirements:**
* Previous experience in a similar 3- or 4-star hotel preferred.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and on own initiative.
* Attention to detail and good time management skills.
* Flexibility around working hours (weekends and holidays).
* Minimum 12 months valid working permit required.
