global data-centre cooling manufacturer
is seeking an experienced
HVAC Systems – R&D Test Lead
to support the development and validation of next-generation cooling technologies.
This is a
hands-on, lab-based engineering role
focused on building and running HVAC test rigs, executing defined test plans, and delivering high-quality performance data to design and development teams. It will suit an engineer who enjoys working close to hardware, solving real technical problems, and owning test execution end-to-end.
What you'll be doing
* Build, configure, and commission HVAC test rigs based on engineering test plans
* Execute R&D testing on DX systems, chilled water systems, and refrigerant-based cooling solutions
* Install and manage instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, power, etc.)
* Troubleshoot mechanical, refrigeration, and system-level issues during testing
* Ensure tests are run safely, consistently, and with repeatable results
* Manage data logging and deliver clear, structured test results to engineering teams
* Support commissioning of new lab equipment and capability upgrades
* Coordinate and guide technicians and contractors in the lab environment
What we're looking for
* Strong hands-on experience with
HVAC and refrigeration systems
* Experience working in an
R&D, test, or development lab
environment
* Practical knowledge of instrumentation, measurement accuracy, and test repeatability
* Comfortable diagnosing complex thermal, mechanical, and system-level issues
* Experience supervising or guiding technicians or contractors
