AtkinsRéalis, one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland, is seeking Designer’s Site Inspectors Structures based in Cork.
The candidate must have extensive experience in the execution and supervision of large civil engineering projects, including major highway schemes. The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, collaborative, willing to take on responsibility, and possess excellent communication skills. The role involves working as part of the AtkinsRéalis site-based team, building relationships with the construction contractor, local authority employer, and their representatives.
The Designer’s Site Inspectors Structures will ensure construction compliance with the Construction Requirements and other applicable contract provisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate between the Contractor and the design team on construction and design issues, focusing on structures such as bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and gantries.
2. Perform duties of the Designer’s Site Inspector, including supervising construction operations, inspecting works, and managing Non-Conformance Reports.
3. Collaborate with the contractor and employer to ensure construction complies with health, safety, environmental regulations, contract requirements, and best practices.
Key Requirements:
* Extensive experience supervising major highway projects and structures, including roles such as Clerk of Works or Inspector for contractors or public sector clients.
* Proven experience managing quality assurance on highways and infrastructure projects.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience with NEC or other collaborative contract forms is preferred.
