We are currently looking for freelance academic copy editors to join our team, which works on academic books for international publishers. Our copy editors work on academic books across STEM and HSS fields to ensure spelling and grammar is correct, style is consistent (and conforms to the publisher’s house style where needed) and the meaning is clear.We invite applications from candidates interested in working on a freelance basis. Candidates should be native English speakers and have some experience working with academic texts and copy editing or proofreading. The right candidate should be reliable and organised, and have good fundamental copy editing skills, knowledge of academic referencing, excellent writing and communication skills and an eye for detail. Freelance candidates will also be enthusiastic to learn new skills and have an interest in publishing and new technology.
